: BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, a division of Health Care Service Corporation, agreed to pay the United States and the state of Illinois $25 million to settle False Claims Act allegations. The settlement resolved claims by the United States that BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois wrongly terminated insurance coverage for private duty skilled nursing care for medically fragile, technologically dependent children, in order to shift the costs of such care to the Medicaid program.
