Airbus agreed to pay $527 million to the United States to resolve foreign bribery charges and alleged violations of the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. This was part of a $3.9 billion settlement that also involved authorities in the United Kingdom and France. The U.S. portion includes $5 million credited toward a $10 million penalty imposed by the State Department Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (see separate entry).
